About Me

Hi there! I’m Karst, and I’m passionate about science communication. For me, this means turning research into understandable and engaging stories. Thanks for visiting my website. Most of the content is in Dutch, since I work primarily for universities in the Netherlands. My goal is to raise the profile of science and give researchers the exposure they deserve. In practice, this means I interview many (Ph.D.) researchers and connect them with Dutch news outlets.

Stories & Tips

I want to help all researchers make their research more visible. That’s why I often share interviews and other content on my Stories & Tips page. This content is (partly) in English. In one of the articles, I interviewed menstrual health researcher Maria Carmen Punzi. She has over 3,000 followers on both Instagram and LinkedIn. In the interview, she shares do’s and don’ts for scientists who want to be more active on social media.

Workshops

For small groups of researchers, I offer 2- to 3-hour workshops. The workshops help improve communication skills and increase the visibility of research. You can find a description of the workshops here. The program can be tailored to your preferences.
